Tone Quality on upper octave G

I'm a not so young beginner to the tenor sax ;)

I'm hoping with a lot of practice i might get good enough to play a few tunes.

I'm currently wondering what i can do to make my upper octave G not sound like a frog blowing bubbles in a pond :)

    Hi Mark-

Welcome to the saxophone.org forum. Best advice would be to practice long tones every day. There are several posts in this discussion forum about long tones. Do a search in the forum search bar for "long tones" in quotes. After reading through several of these posts let us knnow if you still have questions.

    Cheers,

      hi,

yes after a bit of practice its coming together!

The trick for me is keeping the top and bottom lips relaxed while squeezing in with sides of my mouth if that makes any sense haha :)
