Weak chops for an old Sax

I have tried to play my 1924 Buescher true tone Saprano Sax and have come to the realization that it may be too difficult for my level. First question, would a Tenor be easier to control? Second question, how much is a fully playable 1924 Buescher worth? Original case, mouth piece cover, and new pads.
