Buescher True-Tone baritone

I have a Buescher True-Tone baritone, serial number 153799. Can anyone tell me what year it would have been built? The front of the bell has the engraving

The Buescher
Elkhart
Ind.

Has a few leaks I need to fix, but it has a big fat sound, provoking torrents of abuse from my next-door neighbour.

Thanks
David

    Re: Buescher True-Tone baritone

Your sax dates to 1924. This vintage of Buescher baritone has a huge sound and a very free blowing resonance. The antiquated keywork leaves a bt to be desired, but the old school sweet HUGE sound is worth for many!

Throw up a photo here so we can all admire it. Is it silver plate?

Thanks Mark, will load horn porn picture tomorrow.
What's the instrument likely to be worth with a full overhaul and repad? Am in the UK, btw.
