Trying to pick a saxophone

I have played an alto saxophone for the past four highschool years. I am hoping to study saxaphone in college and need recommendations as to what would be the best sax to buy. in terms of brand, new, used, and model. There is an used selmer la voix for 950 I am thinking about. What are your thoughts?

    My advice would be to check out a used Yamaha YAS 62. I am a professional sax player. I play on Selmer Mark Vl's on both Alto and Tenor. As a backup I have a Yamaha YTS 62 tenor which I love. The newer Selmers are too expensive, and my opinion are not as good as the old Mark Vl Selmers were. Therefore, the Yamaha is my personal choice for a backup and it plays almost as good as the old Mark Vl's. If some reason I lost my Selmers I would replace them with Yamaha horns.
