what to do with a 1920 Silver Conn Alto

It doesn't play. Too many stuck keys and brittle pads. Hard to believe it was a 50 year old used horn when I learned to play it in the 70's. For marching band when a pad didn't work, I just forced a candle into the hole to seal it.  No one noticed.

I do not want to put $500 into a rebuild job. What else are my options? Does it have rare metal value or belong in a museum? It's SN 166152.

The serial number puts its manufacture date at 1925, making it a "series II" New Wonder model.  Those are good horns when in top playing condition.  The cost of a good overhaul would probably approach the potential sale value of the horn.  If you just want somebody to get it off your hands quickly and conveniently, take it to a vintage instrument dealer.  Hope there's nothing too nasty under that duck tape.  Otherwise, the body looks in decent shape.

Thanks for the reply. I'd be willing to part with it.

Anybody know of a vintage instrument dealer I could take it to in the Cincinnati/Dayton area or a reputable mail order dealer?
