Rousseau mouthpieces?

Any opinions about the Rousseau new classic mouthpieces for alto? I currently play a selmer S90-190... I'm thinking about trying the NC5... Thanks

    Re: Rousseau mouthpieces?

The only Rousseau I would ever consider is the tenor, and even then I like the older models much more than the New Classic. Honestly, not that many people play Rousseau's anymore. Otis Murphy (Indiana University), Steve Stusik (UNCG) and Kenneth Tse(Univ. of Iowa) all used Rousseau's, but now they all use Vandorens. If you're looking for a new mouthpiece try Vandoren Optimums, Vandoren Traditional, Larry Teals, and Selmer Soloists. They all play differently, but their sounds are much more focused and darker than the Rousseaus.

Thanks for the input. From my own experience, Selmer Soloists were to bright and had a slight edge to them and the Larry Teals restricted my sound so much that dynamics were impossible. Thanks, again.
