looking for help to id my dad's old sax

Hi folks,  Can anyone help me Id this sax which my dad purchased in1940 when he was 10.  photo's inclosed.  Looking to know what it rough approximate value.  We may be donating to a nonprofit who lends instruments to kids and adults starting out who can't afford to purchase.  It does need some work.  Plating a little worn in sports, small dent in horm and one valve cage bend a bit.   Has all the attahments.   Any help you can provide, quality of maker, and year built.  Best I can tell it dates from the 1920s.
Thanks,
Steve Maio

    Hey Steve,

I looked at your photos and checked the serial #. The horn is a Conn New Wonder Chu Berry that was manufactured in 1928. If it was original silver, in overall good condition, and plays (depending on what needs to be setup) you can see anywhere from $1000 to $1800.

You can contact myself (Eugene) or any member of our staff at Saxquest at 314-664-1234 or by email at [email protected] for any information regarding the horn.

Best of luck with your decision!

    Eugene
