Buescher Saxophones

Can anyone speak to the quality of this alto saxophone? I ran across one for only $200, but I am hesitant to pursue it at this time.

it depends, some bueschers are student models, you would be getting a good deal there too.

Compare the buescher you found with the ones on www.saxpics.com to determine what the model is. Any of the horns pre Selmer buy-out are GREAT horns! (This includes Top Hat and Cane, The aristocrats, and the true tones). Post Selmer, IMO there was only one really good horn; and that was the origional bundy horns, the ones with the 'floating pads' and other features. Those were good until Selmer had to make production chaper and took off the neck they had on there and replace it with the cheaper nect that they continue with now. Not long after that the other things that made the real Bundys awesome disappeared quickly, like the floating pads. Sad story really.
