    Re: Dads sax

It's a 1926 C.G. Conn New Wonder "Chu Berry" model alto sax. A stands for alto, L for low pitch (A=440, current tuning system). Looks like the original silver plating is good. Here's this model on this website : http://saxophone.org/museum/saxophones/model/18

        Thank you

I was looking on line what is the difference between the chu berry and the virtuoso? Hard to see the finish on  it in pics but it has like a brushed silver i guess and gold on all the valves and on the etching nad trim on sax.

Conn's "Virtuoso Deluxe" horns were gold plated, with mother-of-pearl on all the touch points (not just the main keys down the front stack), and were heavily engraved, with detail wrapping all around the bell and up the body tube. The engraving pattern usually featured a portrait of a person or scene and were highly detailed. The "Chu" was the standard model and by far more commonly seen.
