Reed Cases

Tell me what you think is the best reed guard or case on the market today. Doesn't matter what the price is.

    Re: Reed Cases

I have an aluminum LaVoz reed holder that's probably 40 years old! It holds 4 reeds; 2 on each side, and it has metal clips that hold the reeds flat. They make a plastic one that is similar that holds 2 reeds. They're inexpensive. The metal ones are better if you can find them.

You might look online at www.wwbw.com or www.giardinelli.com. Check your local music store. Because I alternate between different saxes so much anymore, I bought a leather briefcase, which I keep my music in, along with my various reeds, mouthpieces, reed trimmers, microphone, tuner, and other "goodies" so no matter what saxophone case I grab, I have everything I need in the briefcase. I keep a swab in each case, along with a terry cloth rag to wipe them down with, the original sax mouthpiece, and maybe a couple reeds.
