Middle D squeaking like crazy

I am a beginner sax player playing a new Kohlert 4688t, which was the best sax I could afford. I have been playing for a few months, and all of a sudden I am having trouble playing a middle D. Whenever I go from a lower note (especially a B or D) and slur up to the D I get really bad squeaking that sometimes even carries over to other notes I try to play after that. At first I thought it was the reeds, but I have since tried several different kinds and those have not helped. I do not seem to get the same result when I play a low D. Does anyone know what the cause could be? Leaky pads? Mouthpiece? Please help if you can! Thanks!
