bad second

Im in jazz 1st chair tenor... the second sux and wont admit it shes using a 4 vandoren reed with a otto link *7 and she has a bad tone she cant play fast stuff is there anyway i can help her at all?

    Unsolicited advice is nearly always ignored. I'm inclined to say work on your own playing and always be willing to share what you knowhonestly when asked. When people ask you for advice they are willing to take it. Until then you will just come off as someone who should mind their own business.

        The reed, and the mouthpiece... If you can, switch her out for another tenor player when she's looking the other way. *snickers* Nah, I'd just take her aside and say "look, in all honesty, you need a little bit of help" And just slowly give her advice so you don't come off like an ass

      ask her what shes does instead of practicing, and does her instructor look like jesse james without a gun.
