hemke reeds

Are these good for jazz? How do they compare to alexander reeds and vandorens?

    I've heard that they really suck, but I have never tried them. I don't know of anything that really compares to Alexanders. I wish they were easier to get!

      Hemke's are what I prefer on Tenor. Reeds are hard to get a good description of until you try them. A lot of it depends on the type of music you play, your setup, etc

        My experience has been that all the reeds in a box are playable. I like the full, bright, big sound I get from the Hempke reeds, but I don't think you want them if you are looking for dark or a classical sound. If you like Vandoren reeds I don't think you will like Hempke.
