H.N. White Super 20 Silver Sonic Sax

My father recently passed away and left me with this sax (Serial # 376808). Can someone please give me info on it as well as value and if it should be insured or appraised. Thank You

Re: H.N. White Super 20 Silver Sonic Sax

It was made in 1960 or 1961 (www.drrick.com/king.html King is H.N. White. The Super 20 Silversonic was their flagship saxophone. Some more deluxe models had engraved keys and pearl key touches on all the keys, including the spatula keys. A standard alto in good, playable condition will bring $3500, $3800 for a tenor. A deluxe model in good condition can bring $4200 alto and over $5000 tenor. They are quite valuable; especially the tenors because there were few tenor Silversonics. They have a bright, powerful tone which is great for jazz, rock and blues.
