Bigger Jazz Sound

Hi i'm new to this site I'm 16 years old, i have been playing for 7 years. I have been first alto in my band since grade 10 and my condctor keeps telling me to play louder but I can't seem to make a bigger sound. So I was just wondering if anyone could help me produce a bigger sound in both jazz and classical.

      I use a meyer 5 with 3 reed or 2.5 for jazz. And a Selmer C* with a 3 or 3.5 reed forClassical.

You have to develop your muscles. There is no way on earth that you can get a decent sound out of a 3 1/2

a good thing is to work out your tongue and air by playing like well you probably cant now but playing a 5 and trying to be able to play it to stretch to play as quiet as possible with tonguing its VERY difficult also try playing as loud as you can with it it will help you stretch the dynamics on a softer reed even more
