Conn28M Plastic Guard
I've been reading some of the sax repair posts, and thought I would add some information about a guard I just made. These pictures and other information is on the sax equipment links. I have been repairing instruments for many years. The local music store owner had a 28M with a broken guard. Another repairman fixed the horn by cutting off the posts on the body side of the horn and soldering a wire along the bell key posts to replace the plastic guard. I downloaded pictures from sax sites and made my best guess for positioning the new posts and making the guard. Here's the result. The engraving cost me about 5 times what it cost me to make the guard.
