new here

i'm new here..i'm an italian boy..i have been playing sax fro 12 years and i'm 23...hello to every body.. a question..i've bought a vintage alto sax without fa# key...how can i play that?..who knows a position? thanks

    Hello Rafsax, Welcome the board. If you enter Alternate Fingerings for the Sax into a search engine, there are a number of sites on the web that have charts to show you all the alternate fingerings. There are a number of them, both fingerings and sites, that is!

      A few that work well without the High F# key are: 1. Octave key, left hand B key, G key and right hand side Bflat. 2. Octave key and Left hand B key, G key and right hand F key. 3. Octave key and Left hand B key, G key, Right hand Side Bflat key and F, E, and D keys of the right hand. and 4. all the keys of #3 sans the D key. Experiment with some of these, as not all of them work equally well on every sax. Cheers.
