Antique Sax Woes?

Hello everyone,,

I recently happened upon a vintage 1914 Conn alto on eBay. The seller mentions in the description that the instrument has some marks and is in pretty good condition. Barring a necessary re-padding, are there any issues common or unique to antique saxophones? Should I be worried about the tone or material integrity of the horn for it being 104 years old? Thanks.

the serial number (135,000) does check to 1914 but now I understand the myriad other problems it can face. Thank you so much!

Your horn in question is from 1925.

The 1914 date is just a patent date.
