Bandmaster saxophone identification

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone can help me identify this saxophone. It's written "Bandmaster" on the bell. I only have those 3 pictures for now. I understand that's not a lot of information..

Thank you!

      Hi,

is "bandmaster" a specigic brand? I never heard of them. I was told that this could be a conn stencil.

No, I was being a smartass.

Bandmaster was a stencil. I am not sure who the Bandmaster actualy was, but various companies made Bandmaster instruments for whoever the Bandmaster organization was.

        Conn, Buescher, Holton mostly.

I think yours is a Buescher. This is just my opinion. The engraving "style" and color of the finish reminds me of other stencils I have seen. I refurbish saxes, collect them, often see them around and I always at minimum go check them out.

In any event, it is probably from the mid to late 50s' and would be a much better horn than its value would reflect. If it plays nice and is not beat up, they can bring a 700 to 850 sale price.

        I hope this helps.

        Good Luck
