Evette Schaeffer

Hi, Thanks for any consideration, for this new Saxaphone owner. I recently acquired a Evette-Schaeffer saxaphone. 
I found your site while looking up the Seriel Number, which is #12941. According to the chart this is from 1898-1900. But noticing all of the different "Styles" I see many have numbers in this range. How can I tell if mine is truly that old. I'm having doubts. I was thinking perhaps it was someone's marching band instrument and not really that old. Thanks for any help.
