Gold Tenor Mouthpiece and Lig

i am a young but avid jazz tenor player looking for a metal mouthpiece. Right now i am playing on a otto link 6* and thats great but i think i need a bit larger tip opening. I am considering the otto metal and ive also seen the new york model. I play a great yamaha yts-52, what would be the best one for me in the 250- price range?

    The New Yorks sound really great on the Yamaha saxophones. The Yamaha's tend to sound a little thin at times on the high end, and the New York will add a little more depth to the sound. I'd try a New York 7*

      thanks jim- i was thinking of ordering a few of both (new york and regular) and seeing which sound better. What do you think?

        I'd try the Otto Link New York 7* and a #2 or 2.5 reed. Giardinelli has a great price on them; www.giardinelli.com

          what reeds do you suggest? I've used vandoren ZZ, V16 and Java and V16's seem to feel the best for a dark sound, but what would be the best on a yamaha with a new york?

          the v16s are pretty good 2 1/2's.
