Jazz Mouthpieces and reeds

I've been playing sax for quite some while now, but I've only been playing jazz music for about 2 or 3 years. I just have the standard Selmer Tenor Sax and a C* mouthpiece, so I'm writing this so that someone will help me with advice as to which mouthpieces are good for playing jazz music with my tenor sax. I would also appreciate input on any specific reeds that are used. Thank you.

    Re: Jazz Mouthpieces and reeds

Well there are tons of great mouthpieces out there (vintage and modern) here are some good choices: Otto Link (Hard Rubber or Metal) 5*-7* are personal favorites Morgan Excalibur (WONDERFUL jazz mouthpiece try a 5E or 6EL) Morgan Jazz mouthpiece Meyer 7M Berg Larsen Hard Rubber Yanigasawa Metal (very very smooth pieces) E. Rousseau Jazz Pieces As for reeds, it all depends what suit you. On tenor i use La Voz medium and on alto i use Vandoren Java's size 3 but other good brands are: La Voz Vandoren Java Vandoren V16 Vandoren ZZ Rico Jazz Select Unfiled/Filed Hemkes (also wonderful legit reeds) Those are some of my personal favorites but im only 15 so also listen around to other peoples responses
