Buescher Aristocrat

My grandfather passed on a Buescher Aristocrat to me that he played in high school. I had never seen his saxoophone before, but its s/n is 294764 and was made some time in the early 1940s. There is nothing special about the finish, but it plays as good or better than anything else I've played to date (including my instructers Mark VI). I was curious if anyone knew just exactly what level this horn is at. Thanks.

That horn wouldve been made in 1941, and should be a "Big B" model(you can check this by looking at the bell engraving, there should be a large Letter B there) The Big B is a pro horn, and very popular mong vintage horn players. It, and the 400 Top Hat and Cane are the two most desired of the Buescher horns. Congrats on the horn!
