Jump in there with that tune. Fumble and stumble until you get it piece by piece. Some of the most enjoyable times I had as a kid were learning Coltrane tunes. Without knowing it you will learn diatonic modes, pentatonic scales, harmonic minor scales, how to spell chords vertically, and the greatest articulation. I love that pipey sound Coltrane had. Get someone to run the stereo for you. Don't learn six notes and write them down, as you will break up the flow. After you learn a section , sit down and practice it to smooth it out. When you fire those notes out, you have to feel them. Don't make it a karaoke performance !!!! Best of luck to you :) Terry
