Quick question!!

In one of my jazz band parts, it says to "TACET." This may sound dumb, but what does it mean?

    Tacet means to not play. You stop playing where tacet is marked.

    it means dont play, but it is usually part of a repeated phrase. so if there are repeats, it may say tacet 1st and 2nd time. dont play 1at and seocnd time, come in the third
