Here is a breathtaking Conn 10M in originanl silver matte finish, serial number 265898. This is a very early 10M and for its age it is in remarkably excellent condition.
This tenor sax still has greater than 95% silver finish left, with just normal playing wear on the usual keys and touch points. The horn doesn’t have a dent in it, and has just a couple of the smallest dimples in the bottom bow. No resolder work has been done. It is just about in the finest physical condition you will find.
A good looking sax is nothing without the sound to back it up, and this tenor excels. With the usual Conn tradition, the sax has a nice free feel with a light key tension and medium-open key height.
This horn has it all in the sound department. It has a great open and aggressive sound, exactly what you want in a vintage Conn. The sound has a slightly spread characteristic, and intonation is actually very good, much better than some other 10M’s. This is a beautiful horn with a monster sound!
