This is a super nice original lacquer Selmer Super Balanced Action tenor saxophone, serial number 39981. This horn looks incredible and has a sound to match.

Physically, they don't come much nicer. Original lacquer is over 90% intact. There are no dents, no past repairs, and no resoldered joints, anywhere on this instrument. There is a small 3 inch lacquer wear spot following the curvature of the bell flare (see the photo).

This horn has a very rich warm sound, slightly darker, and very responsive. A great example of an earlier vintage SBA tenor.
