Here is a real find - a vintage gold plated Buescher True Tone sopranino (yes, I said sopranino) saxophone, serial number 97618. It is in top playing condition.
Coming across a playing vintage sopranino these days isn't easy. Keyed in Eb, it plays one octave higher than the alto sax. This horn is in great shape, with over 90% of the original gold plate remaining. Most of the wear is only of the speckle-ish variety and is found on a couple touch points. Unfortunately, the name "Buescher" and the "True Tone" stamp under the serial number have been rubbed off, probably for import reasons, many years ago.
Physically the sax is outstanding. There are no dents, no dings, and no signs of any past dents or dings. The sax is shown in a good vintage case, and with the original Buescher hard rubber mouthpiece.
This horn plays great. The tone is warm and has a darker overall characteristic. It is quite fun to play.
