C.G. CONN Silver Plate Chu Berry (Serial Number: 189716) Back to model

This is an especially great Conn "Mulligan" Chu Berry model bari sax, serial number 189716. It features rolled toneholes, split bell keys, the finger-nail file G# key and high F. It has matte finish body with gloss keys and engraving as well as the gold wash bell.

This instrument was fully restored in 2003 by St. Louis Woodwind and Brass to the highest of professional standards. The sax was re-silver plated and looks absolutely beautiful. Although it was replated, it was NEVER buffed. The sax was hand-rag preped which is extremely labor intensive, but better for the instrument.

The pads, springs, felts, and cork work were done by Marvin Kranz. It is a top professional job. All of the tone holes were meticulously leveled and the key fitting is superb.

This horn has an incredibly huge sound that is as fat as it gets. You can feel the resonance in this instrument when you play it. This is an incredibly beautiful early vintage Conn "Mulligan" bari sax.
