This is a beautiful silver plated Conn soprano sax, serial number 160331. This horn has all the great features associated with this era of Conn: fingernail file G# key, rolled tone holes, and a sound that is full and responsive.
Physically, you will not see many instruments of this vintage nicer than this. There are no dents or dings anywhere on the horn. The bottom bell flare has never been damaged. The original silver finish shows almost no wear, and stands at 99% intact.
The horn has quite a sound. It is very warm and inviting, a product of the silver plate. It has a real quick response, with very little resistance. It has a sweet sound, yet can still be powerful when called to do so. It is a remarkable Conn soprano.
