Here is a very rare and unique instrument – a silver Conn Chu Berry C-Melody sax, with the Art Deco engraving, something rarely seen on this late of vintage, serial number 239967. The original silver matte finish is well over 99%.
There is virtually no wear to speak of on this horn. There is just minor finish wear on a couple touch points. The gold wash inside the bell looks great as well. The horn does have the fingernail file G# key, rolled tone holes, and the original Conn tuner neck, which shows a small amount of resolder work on one of the posts.
This C-Melody is also in top physical condition. It has no dents, no dings, and no resoldered joints anywhere.
The sax has a sweet beautiful sound. It has the nice spread characteristic valued among Conn instruments, and is a very free blower. It has a definite charming quality to the tone that really lulls the listener.
