C.G. CONN Lacquer - Late Chu Berry (Serial Number: 244587) Back to model

Here's about as nice a looking, and as late a serial number Conn Chu Berry tenor as you're going to find. With a serial number of 244587, this is right at the end of the Chu Berry run, befor the arrival of the transitional Conns.

The original lacquer is pristine, and over 98% intact. The only wear is of the speckle variety that comes with age. The sax does feature rolled tone holes, and the fingernail file G# key. It does come with the original neck which also looks outstanding. There are no major dents or dings anywhere in the horn, and no resoldered joints. Incredibly enough after all these years, the horn has just not seen too much playing, and when it was played, it was meticulously cared for.

It plays with a huge spread sound, and is an extremely free blower, offering zero resistance to the player and responding immediately to your airstream. One of the main reasons Conns of this vintage are so popular is the total flexibility and versatility in the sound, and this horn certainly has that.
