morgan "vintage" tenor mpc

I recently bought a Vintage Morgan #8 tenor sax mpc and I expected a warm, round sound. However, it sounds more "edgy" than I expected. I use Rico Royal #3,5 reeds. Additionally, when I look the inside of the mpc I notice that there is a slight asymmetry of the surface. Could this be a real problem or is it expected in a hand-made mpc like Morgan's? I would appreciate anyone who has had experience with Vintage Morgan mouthpieces to share his opinion and if there is a recommended reed for them. Thanks in advance, Ioannis

Hey, If you cant find anyone on here that plays a vintage morgan, I believe lots of players over on SOTW (www.saxontheweb.net) love them to death...
