    Re: MC GREGORY MODEL A

I know that Paul Desmond used one of these mouthpieces. I have an old Gregory model A tenor piece that I bought for 30 bucks 15 years ago. It just happened to be the one that got the sound I needed. At the time I was playing tenor in a concert band, and my dukoff d 7 just didn't blend with the section :) It is a fairly close lay piece, and I got a nice fat sound on a super balanced action tenor using a 3 1/2 vandoren reed. I would not, however, use it as a jazz mouthpiece. My $.02
