    dude, you didn't buy a xylophone. a xylophone is tuned percussion, like a little vibraphone, or a big glockenshpeil. i think you mean a xaphoon. and no, playing xaphoon should not do anything detrimental to your tenor playing, as long as you remember that they're two different instruments.
