Your sax was made around 1935, and was one of the earlier 6M models. The early 6M's are the most valuable, and they are some of the sweetest saxophones ever made. Silver was the most popular finish. Some models had a gold-washed bell. Nickel was quite rare. Most likely, your horn is silver. In mint condition, early 6M's often sell for $2500 or more. The problem with selling such an instrument however is finding the right buyer; someone who is familiar with the horn and willing to pay what they are truely worth.
