1930 Martin Alto Saxophone?

I've been playing for about 9 years now, but i have no idea what saxes are good and bad. I've played a martin throughout highschool and it worked relatively fine. Im looking to buy a cheap sax considering i dont have my own anymore and i was wondering how the 1930's Martin Alto Saxophones played and how well they maintained a good condition.
