Antique American professional Serial # 17344

I have an American Professional that my great grandpa played in college "The Black Cat Collegians." I have a picture of him and his band in 1926 and the saxophone was old then!! It is in excellent shape, I've had it repadded and it sounds amazing!!! I would like to know how old it is and how much it may be worth! I am not looking to sell it it is a priceless family heirloom. I play the sax myself and I want to know some history behind my instrument if any one could help I would be very greatfull, I also have pictures of it if anyones interested in helping me!!
