Conn 16 M Tenor

I just bought a Conn Tenor from ebay. The serial # is 552618. I believe this sax was made in 1955, and I believe this is when the saxes were still made in the Indiana factory. I believe these horns were better made than the later ones. I just want to know for sure by the serial # if this is one of the better Conns. Thanks.

I want to know if this was a wise choice buying this tenor. It is not professional, I know, but it is the first year Conn made this model. It is a 1955. Was this a good buy? Is this a good horn? I have been playing sax for about 7 years now. I have never owned a tenor. I have played on a few tenors. I got it for almost 240 dollars.

Hi Rockon, These are indeed student horns, and not my favorite offering by Conn. However the early examples are the best of the Director model, and the price paid was a good buy, provided it is in good condition and is, or will be tended to by a good tech to make it fully playable top to bottom. Play it and enjoy.
