Italian Bundy Bari Sax - looking for information

I've got a bari sax that i would like to know more about. The bell is engraved with: "Bundy H & A Selmer Elkart, Ind" The instrument looks like an attempt to copy a Conn Transitional (guards, bell key table, file-pattern g# lever). At the top of the body, under the lower octave key is stamped "Italy". From looking at it I guess that it's at least 45 years old, maybe older. Why would Selmer contract with an Italian company after they bought Buescher? Anybody have experience with one of these?
