Soundquality Conn New Wonder vs Conn Naked Lady

For 25 years I played a Conn from 1919 and was always pleased with the big sound end the projection. Very clear and broad sound, specially up high. Now I play a Naked Lady and again I like the overall sound but..I feel the higher notes are sounding thinner and harder to play and the altissimo-register is much less responding. Is it me getting older? Need I try out different fingerings? Whats happening here? By the way I play on a Berg Larsson 120 2 sms hard rubber mouthpiece. Tomorrow I'm gonna check out the new Theo Wanne mouthpieces, perhaps that will help?
