Vintage Bb Selmer NY Baritone Sax - How do I identify Year?

Back in 1973, my father brought home a Selmer NY baritone Saxaphone for me.  I used it throughout Highschool and after.  I never gave much though to its History, until now.

I am trying to find out the year and style.  According to the serial number 66799, it should be a mark IV, however I am certain it is not and is much older that the 1950's,

Would someone be able to guide me in researching this saxaphone's history?

Thanks,

Tim

Selmer New York horns were made by Conn for sale at the Selmer music store in New York in the 1920s.

Thank You.  I had assumed that due to the NEW YORK etching, however how would I go about proving or establishing this to someone?

You could try an internet search to find more details (and opinions).
