Best Playing Saxes

I'm a novice - so a dumb question - when people discuss how "good" a sax is they only seem to discuss tone. How about ease of playing i.e. the mechanics, layout, key placing or whatever it is that makes a horn "playable". Or, maybe they are all about the same? Dunno. Any thoughts?
