Conn bari sax

I have just acquired a Conn baritone sax and would like to determine the age of it. It is sn 38135xx and that will not match up with any of the info on the web as it is a seven digit number, no alpha. The only numbers that I can find for Conn sax sn's are six digit. I have a transitional 12M Conn bari and mechanically this sax is identical. Anyone out there have an idea about this sn? The stamp itself is original and does not appear altered in any way.

    Im betting its a late 80s Conn-Selmer horn. Does it have wire keygaurds, or sheet metal gaurds?
