Reeds and mouthpieces

OK, guyz i d really apreciate some of your time... i have 2 mouthpieces, 1 Selmer C80 C* and 1 Selmer SuperSession E, for the first i think Vandorens sound really smooth, and for the second Hemkes, if you are anyhow familiar with anyone of the two mouthopieces please give me your opinion for what reeds do u use... Oh and the mouthpieces are for my Selmer HummingBird, if that helps you anyhow...

    Re: Reeds and mouthpieces

Hey man, I'm in the same category as you=) I've been playing on a Selmer C* For years, and regular reeds i use 3 vandoren, but i like using 3.5 JAVA vandorens...They're a bit brighter (not much), but they project better and easier to play on. I recently bought a humming bird horn, and I got the same mouthpiece. The tip opening is a tad bigger so I had to switch down 1/2 a size, so I use a size 3 JAVA on it. (2.5 regular). And incase you havent noticed you gotta pull out some for the super session mouthpiece.
