If you don't care how it looks, a good tech can pull something out the scrap pile, retool it, and get it working. I know someone in the DC area who rebuilt my Buescher Truetone and did a great job. There was no mangled keywork on the alto, but he has replaced keys on some of my old metal clarinets.
