    The Meyer is perfect for a Martin so what could be better? Well, only you can be better, and as long as your horn is well maintained, it should sound great. Martin Magnas are great horns.

    Brock- A vintage Meyer 5 would be one of the more standard choices for that vintage alto. Is yours an alto? Most guys would not use a Rovner, although I don't know that it matters nearly as much as your technique. I'd get a metal ligature if it were mine, but likely best to worry less about equipment and more about practice. Good Luck.
