Evette Schaffer is Buffet's student line. Though Buffet is known more for their clarinets (The R-13 is still one of the best clarinets that you can buy!) their saxophones; even the Evette models, are pretty good horns. They are a French company, and they have been around for a long time. Ever look at a Selmer Balanced Action, or Super Balanced action compared to a Buffet Dynaction? It's easy to see where Selmer got their inspiration!

I thought it might be a student-line horn, thanks for the info. It's been a LONG time since I bought a sax, and there are SOOOO many brands. I have an older Selmer Mark VI alto and used to play a Selmer Mark VI bari, but never owned one. I'm sticking to the list as I look.
