I have this vintage cg conn alto sax but i dont have any information on it and i would love some. On the bell there are no markings what so ever besides CG CONN ELKHART IND and on the back it has the words Factory then what looks to be the number 3 then below that is the letter A then the serial number 17562 then bellow that is the letter L . I was wondering the background info and the value.

    Re: CG CONN ALTO SAX

Hi Matt, You have an older model Conn, known as the Wonder. The serial number places the date of manufacture at 1910. The "A" above the serial number stands for Alto, and the "L" stands for "Low Pitch (i.e. 440). These are not especially in demand among the many Conn models, being a very early design with, by today's standards, quite rudimentary and antiquated keywork. The models to look for are the New Wonder I and II, The Artist (or Lady Face) models, and the 26/30M Connquerer horns. The value would be around $150 or so, in good, original condition.
