restoring the finish on a Buescher tenor tru tone aristrocat gold plated saxophone

I just aquired an vintage saxophone from my dad. What is the best way to restore the finish on it. It is gold plated.

    how bad is it? are you talking about cleaning it, or re plating it? or you could just take it to a repair tech in your area...

      It has a tarnished apearance to it. Would cleaner work or does it have to be replated?

        get some good silver polish and a soft rag... (and some soft shoelaces to get in the little places) that should do the trick... DON'T get on a dremel and start buffing!
